Paper Planes Handwriting Book Club

Paper Planes is more than a handwriting club, it’s a space where imagination takes flight. Inspired by the idea that a simple paper airplane can go anywhere in the hands of a child, this club invites students to explore where their ideas can take them through writing.

In a fun, tech-free environment, students are encouraged to tap into their creativity, express themselves freely, and reconnect with the power of writing by hand. Each session blends imagination with purpose, helping kids experience handwriting not just as a skill, but as a tool for confidence, expression, and personal growth.

How the Club Works

Paper Planes is an ongoing, weekly club where students gather to write, create, and explore in a consistent, supportive environment. Each session is thoughtfully designed to give students a balance of imagination and real-world application.

Throughout the program, students engage in practical writing experiences such as letters, forms, journaling, mapping, and creative prompts—helping them see how writing connects to everyday life. Sessions include guided activities, hands-on practice, and opportunities to share and reflect, allowing students to learn by doing rather than focusing on perfection.

Because the club meets weekly, students build a natural rhythm with writing, gaining confidence, independence, and a deeper connection to their ideas over time. Whether joining in person or online, each student becomes part of a space where writing is not rushed—but explored, enjoyed, and brought to life.

What To Expect Each Week

1. Warm-Up
We begin with short, engaging exercises to get students focused, loosen their hands, and ease into the writing process.

2. Guided Group Lesson & Activity
The instructor introduces the week’s theme, for example, letter writing, journaling, or filling out a form. Students learn key elements of the skill through instruction and demonstration. Then, they participate in a hands-on guided activity, where they apply what they’ve just learned.

3. Independent Writing Time
Students practice writing on their own. This is their chance to explore ideas, express themselves, and build confidence, all at their own pace.

4. Reflection & Cool-Down
Sessions may close with a brief reflection or sharing time, giving students an opportunity to celebrate progress, connect with peers, and wrap up the learning experience.
