The Art of Listening uses the actor's craft to help educators explore the difference between simply hearing someone and truly listening.

Through hands-on acting exercises, educators practice observation, presence, nonverbal communication, responding, and listening for what is said, and what isn't said. They examine how these skills influence communication, relationships, collaboration, and the classroom environment.

Participants experience the skills firsthand and reflect on how they show up in their own classrooms.

Educators leave with practical strategies for becoming more present listeners, recognizing student cues, strengthening connection, and creating a classroom culture where students feel heard.

Theater Arts Camp is a hands-on professional learning experience that invites educators to experience the power of the performing arts as a tool for teaching and learning across subjects.

Through acting, movement, storytelling, voice, improvisation, collaboration, creative challenges, and other performing arts practices, participants learn by doing.

Throughout the experience, educators will explore how these practices can be connected to their own subject areas and learning objectives. They will brainstorm, experiment, collaborate, and develop ideas for using performing arts to help students understand, practice, and demonstrate what they are learning.

Designed with the energy and camaraderie of a camp experience, participants can expect themed activities, hands-on challenges, creative exploration, teamwork, and plenty of opportunities to play, create, and share.
